The man with the coolest most appropriate name wins his 2nd start on the PGA Tour. Wins a cool million, gains instant fame and many sponsor dollars since he will be a fixture for the next two years.
Some might say that he played and one of easier tournaments of the year! Some might say he got lucky. And others will jump on the Johny Vegas band wagon. What eve the choice and what ever the words, JV is now a starter on the Varsity squad.
No miss marked balls on the green, no moving loose objects out of the way of a moving golf ball. Just 36 birdies against 9 bogies and the title is his For the next year. Those in his home country will celebrate, his father will beat his chest (as well he should) and talking heads will analyze his game inside And out. Nike will continue to sponsor winners and JV will have a hang over for the next week. Reality will set in once he puts a peg in the groud at Torrey Pines.
Harder courses, thinker air and a few heavy hitters in the field. Yes the BHC had some strong golfers but nothing like the Farmers will have. Vegas deserves all the spoils from winning and hope he takes advantage of them. But in order to be taken seriously he will have to stand and deliver when the best in the world are in the field.
I saw him win on the Nationwide and now the big show, he gets nervous down the stretch. H
One day that may fade, if it does...watch out because this kid will clean up. Great to see young talent come out swinging. I hope more rookies step up and make this one of the best seasons of my time on the PGA Tour.
